Holiday Giving Guide: Five More Books We Love

December 04, 2008

Still shopping?  Me too.  The Savvy Source has some great suggestions for the little book worms on your list.  Last week, I posted about five of my family's favorites.  But I couldn't stop there.  Here are five more book recommendations.

My daughter loves this story. And I love the particularly beautiful illustrations in Lauren Child's version. A must-have for all little princesses in training.

My daughter chose this book to read last night before bed! It is one of those books that we can read over and over again without tiring of it. This is also a good pick for a holiday gift because the velveteen rabbit is given to the boy as a Christmas present.

This is one of my favorite "winter books." I cannot count how many nights we have cuddled up in our warm pajamas and wool socks and enjoyed this chilly take on the story of Goldilocks together.

Oooh, there is just nothing like an Eric Carle book, is there? When we make our trips to the local library, both of my kids head straight to the "C" section to pick out their favorites (including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?).

This truly is a must-have. We often give books as presents for new babies and this classic is always included. This story is also a great resource for learning new words, foods, numbers, and colors.

Check out the Books and Toys Section on Savvy Source for more gift ideas.
